Kasauli


Kasauli is a small town cantonment in Solan District of Himachal Pradesh. This town is famous for the Kasauli Brewery which is the largest brewery in the World also has a very rich history. The importance of this City came into being when Lord Hanuman on his way of getting the Sanjeevani herb to cure Laxman landed here before jumping on the Sanjeevani Hill. Being a cantonment area, entry is restricted without permission from concerned authorities and foreign tourists traveling in this town must carry a valid passport. HP is easy of access by roads, railways and airways.

One of the major attractions in the city includes the Christ Church which is located near the bus stand. This 159 year old Church is a wonderful architectural creation which attracts visitors still today. There is also a small temple on the top of the hill which is dedicated to Lord Hamuman. You can also visit Dharampur, which is on the National Highway No. 22 and is about 15 km from Kasauli. Besides, one can also visit the temples like Baba Balak Nath Temple and the Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir on their visit to Kasauli.

Kasauli also offers accommodation to the guests. There are many resorts in and around the city which offer lodging and dining facilities to the guests. One such resort is the Snow Valley resort which offers fishing, paragliding, horse riding and camp fire to the guests.

Munnar - Beauty of Nature

Khajjair - Mini Switzerland of India

Khajjiar is called the Mini Switzerland of India in Himachal Pradesh and was officially baptized thus by the Swiss Ambassador on July 7, 1992.  The exquisite glade of Khajjiar (1960m) has a circumference of about 5 km. It has a rare combination of three ecosystems: lake, pasture and forest, all in one place. At Khajjiar there is a 12th century temple dedicated to Khajjair. Within the temple are lifesize wooden images of the five Pandav brothers, can be reached from Dalhousie, the nearest major town and hill station, by bus in one hour. There are two buses in the morning that leave at around 9:30. The last bus that returns from Khajjiar to Dalhousie is at 3:30 PM. In winter, the temperature hovers around freezing point with snowfalls, heavy woollens are required. In summer, the climate is mild and light woollens/cottons are recommended.
